I’m a mom of 3, with two of my kids being deaf with cochlear implants. I remember when I had first two kids with hearing loss, and I was faced with practicing two different sets of speech goals everyday while parenting a 2 year old and 4 year old.
Talk about the definition of insanity!
I had to QUICKLY figure out a better way to balance it all and prioritize language learning in a way that didn’t feel stuffy or snooze- worthy to my kids.
So I focused on fun language activities that kept my kids' attention and boosted their language skills in the fastest amount of time possible.
